Arizona Republic:  “Scottsdale is updating its rules on medical marijuana despite a halt of the statewide regulatory process.  As Arizona continues to grapple with the legality of its voter-approved law, Scottsdale has suggested changes to its ordinance governing marijuana dispensaries and other uses, including smaller ‘caregiver cultivation’ operations.”

Residents near Scottsdale Saguaro High School Resist Proposed Medical-marijuana Site

Arizona Republic:  “Residents living near Saguaro High School fought off a proposed medical-marijuana dispensary this week but opposition to 11 other dispensaries and five cultivation facilities proposed for Scottsdale was rather muted over the past two months.  The Scottsdale Planning Commission, besieged by a packed hearing room, voted unanimously Wednesday to recommend denial of a city-use permit for Taxonomy Healing Practices in an office building southwest of McDonald Drive and Granite Reef Road.”

Scottsdale OKs Its First Medical-marijuana Dispensary

Arizona Republic:  “The City Council has approved Scottsdale’s first permit for a medical-marijuana dispensary.  The Virtue Center, 7301 E. Evans Road, in the Scottsdale Airpark, would supply medical marijuana and provide consultations to patients. The planned 1,500-square-foot dispensary is northeast of Thunderbird and Scottsdale roads in north Scottsdale.”

Scottsdale Panel Recommends First Marijuana Dispensary Site

Arizona Republic:  “The first conditional-use permit for a medical-marijuana dispensary in Scottsdale gained the Planning Commission’s support Wednesday, but some members said approval ‘puts the cart before the horse.’  By a 3-2 vote, the commission recommended City Council approval of a permit for the Virtue Center, at 7301 E. Evans Road, in the Scottsdale Airpark. . . . ‘It’s all speculative, no one knows if they’re going to get a license’,”

Arizona Republic:  “A former NASCAR driver and two businessmen are seeking [Scottsdale] city approval for a medical-marijuana dispensary near Via de Ventura and Pima Road.  The Kush Clinic LLC has filed for a use permit to operate the dispensary in a 3,300-square-foot building at 8729 E. Manzanita Drive”

Scottsdale Planning Commission Backs Amendment for Medical-marijuana Regulations

Arizona Republic:  “The Scottsdale Planning Commission on Wednesday backed a text amendment establishing regulations to comply with a new state law that legalizes growing, manufacturing and dispensing medical marijuana in the city. . . .The commission voted, 5-1, to recommend dispensing, manufacturing and growing be allowed without a conditional use permit in the special campus zoning district as part of a hospital or medical campus. Also, dispensing and manufacturing would be allowed in the commercial office zoning district with a conditional use permit.”
